With the unwavering support of my friends Yves and Claire-Lise Haldemann, Stephan brought Sail & Discover to life — a journey born from his deep love for the sea and the joy of cruising. And thus, the Sail and Discover adventure set sail!
With carefully selected charter boats, Sail and Discover offers and Stephan manages private cruises in Croatia (Kornati Islands), Sicily (Aeolian Islands), Greece (Aegean Sea, Dodecanese, Saronic Gulf), and the West Indies (Grenadines). We’ve organized over 100 weeks of unforgettable holidays on the water, with more than 500 satisfied guests.
Stephan meets Constantin Christov, and together they acquire a 1999 Bavaria 50 — the perfect sailboat for Sail & Discover. Moored in Preveza, Stephan instantly falls in love with the region: stunning waters, ideal sailing conditions, and everything needed for unforgettable cruises. They quickly decide to make Preveza their summer base.
The Ionian sailing area, with its countless islands, is truly spectacular to organise skippered sailing holidays in Greece. Focusing on one area allows for a deeper connection with the region and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. Stephan became the sole owner of Chronos and chose to make the yacht his home.
In the winter and spring of 2022-2023, Stephan assisted a couple with no prior sailing experience in mastering and optimizing their new Lagoon 450S catamaran, preparing them for a global sailing adventure. This marked the beginning of a new venture. Visit the Sail and Discover coaching page
Stephan fell in love with Yuliia in September 2023. A first-time sailor, she quickly embraced the experience. They spent the winter in Valencia and set off on a Mediterranean crossing, filled with new adventures. By spring 2024, they returned to Préveza, with Yuliia mastering sailing and confidently assisting the captain. Passionate about cooking, she also delights in caring for their guests. The Sail & Discover journey continues, now with a talented hostess on board!
