The area offers numerous anchoring options and charming traditional villages to discover.
Although the waters can be busy, as is common throughout the region (the price to pay for one of the best sailing areas in the Mediterranean), the wide range of routes and destinations allows charter and private yachts to spread out, making it easier to find quieter, less crowded spots.
How to reach to Preveza
Preveza has its own international airport, Aktion National Airport (PVK), located just 15 minutes from Preveza town quay, where we will located.

The drive takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes on a pleasant, modern motorway through the southern side of the Gulf of Corinth. Free parking is available in Preveza, and car rentals in Greece are generally very affordable. This option is also the best if you want to visit the capital and Greece before or after your cruise.
A third option is to fly to Corfu International Airport (CFU). From there, you can take a ferry (about 1 hour 30 minutes) to Igoumenitsa, on the mainland, and then a taxi to Preveza (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, around €120). There are many ferries throughout the day, and the total travel time from Corfu Airport to Preveza is about 3–4 hours.

Round trip from Corfu, best during aft season
Advantages
Disadvantages
- Easy access by plane and ferry
- Historical city
- Beautiful island
- Very crowded in high and mid-season
- Limited itinerary and places to visit.
- Lack of wind in high season
Corfu and its surroundings are beautiful and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, this popularity comes at a cost: during high and mid-season, the island and its surrounding waters are extremely crowded. With up to three cruise ships arriving daily and constant air traffic, getting around on land can be challenging, and conditions on the water are no better. For this reason, we prefer sailing around Corfu during the low season, although the choice is entirely yours.
How to reach Corfu
Corfu is one of the most visited islands in Greece and it’s airport, CFU has excellent connection to major european cities.
You can also reach the island by ferry from Italy (Ancona, Bari) or from nearby Albania.
